Israel has become an important location for American and European
pharmaceutical and medical device companies conducting multi-national
clinical trials. Israel’s popularity as a site for clinical trials increased after it
received recognition as an approved FDA site in 1997.
Among the reasons cited by international companies for choosing Israel
are the excellence and expertise of the medical professionals within the
nation and the ease of recruiting and following patient populations. The
size of the clinical niche in Israel is estimated at $100 million in research.
This includes monitoring research and regulations provided by contract
research organizations (CRO).
